UI/UX Design

Case Study: Building a Killer App Experience from Scratch

Here’s a breakdown of how we handle UI/UX design at Koncept Agency, no fluff, just the real deal. From concept to launch, we’re with you every step of the way, making sure your app looks slick and works like a dream. Below’s a case study of how we took a client's half-baked idea and turned it into an intuitive, badass user experience.

Case Study: Crypto Wallet App UX/UI Design

Step 1: Concept & Discovery (The Brainstorm)

Before we even touch a screen, we sit down with the client and figure out what the hell they actually want. For this crypto wallet, they were clear:

  • Problem: Users found existing wallets too clunky and confusing.

  • Goal: Make it dead simple, beautiful, and secure.

We broke down everything — user flows, pain points, desired features — and did some serious competitor research. We’re not here to copy, we’re here to beat the competition by delivering something better.

Visual Breakdown 1: User Journey Mapping

We created a user journey map for different types of users, from crypto noobs to advanced traders. Every interaction, every possible touchpoint — we mapped it all out. Here’s the sketch:

Step 2: Wireframing (The Blueprint)

Next up, wireframes. This is the skeleton of the app, where the magic starts happening. We keep it simple here — it’s all about getting the basic layout and flow right before diving into the visual candy.

Low-fidelity wireframes focused on:

  • Onboarding Process: Easy sign-up, wallet setup, and seed phrase generation

  • Dashboard Layout: Quick access to balances, recent transactions, and conversion rates

  • Transaction Flows: Simple, two-click transfers and quick-buy options

Visual Breakdown 2: Wireframes

Here’s a peek at our wireframes before we made things pretty:

Step 3: Prototyping (Where It Gets Sexy)

With the structure nailed down, we move on to high-fidelity prototypes. This is where we show off our design skills and make the app look like something you actually want to use.

What we focused on:

  • Clean, modern design: Minimal, intuitive UI that doesn’t confuse users.

  • Brand-consistent visuals: We took the client’s brand colors and vibe and splashed it across the app to create an experience that was not only functional but also engaging.

  • User-first functionality: Every single interaction was simplified to make the app smooth as butter. No one wants to jump through hoops to send their crypto.

Step 4: Testing & Iterating (Fixing What Sucks)

Here’s where the rubber meets the road. We ran the prototype through multiple user tests to make sure everything was intuitive as hell. Real users interacted with it, and we took notes on where they hesitated, what confused them, and what they loved.

  • Usability Testing: We ran A/B tests on the onboarding flow and transaction processes.

  • Iterating: After collecting user feedback, we made tweaks to button placement, font sizes, and animations for smoother navigation.

Visual Breakdown 4: Usability Testing Insights

  • 80% of users wanted quicker access to transaction history — so we tweaked the dashboard.

  • The original button colors didn’t pop enough — changed them for better contrast.

Step 5: Handoff & Implementation (Making It Real)

Once the client was blown away by the prototype (which they were), we moved to handoff. We worked closely with their dev team, making sure every detail was pixel-perfect. We provided detailed design specs and assets to ensure smooth development without any ‘WTF’ moments during the build.

  • Figma Handoff: Organized layers, color codes, typography specs, and interaction flows were handed over for seamless implementation.

  • Design Support: We didn’t just disappear after the handoff. We were on call to answer any questions and adjust as necessary during development.

The Final Result

What we delivered:

  • A clean, intuitive crypto wallet app that both beginners and advanced users could navigate without feeling like they needed a PhD in blockchain.

  • Increased user retention and satisfaction based on post-launch feedback.

  • A slick, brand-consistent UI that enhanced the overall user experience, with easy access to all key features.

Visual Breakdown 5: Final Screens

  • Home Screen: Clean, with quick balance overview and fast access to transactions.

  • Transaction Flow: Two-click process to send crypto, with security prompts in place.

  • Settings & Security: Easy-to-navigate options for managing wallets and security settings.
